Setting Surface Materials and Radiative Properties
For the halogen bulb, the lens, and the reflector, you use pre-defined parameters to set the radiative properties.
-
Set the surface materials and their radiative properties for the
Air continuum:
- Right-click the Continua > Air > Models > Surface Materials > Surface Materials node and select Select Surface Materials….
- In the Select Surface Materials dialog, select Cast Iron (Cast Iron).
- Click Apply three times, then click Close.
-
Expand the Surface Materials node and rename the
following nodes:
Node Name Cast Iron Halogen Bulb Cast Iron 2 Lens Cast Iron 3 Reflector -
Edit the Surface Materials node and set the
following properties:
Node Property Setting Halogen Bulb Material Properties Emissivity > Constant Value ${Halogen Bulb_Emissivity} Transmissivity > Constant Value ${Halogen Bulb_Transmissivity} Lens Material Properties Emissivity > Constant Value ${Lens_Emissivity} Transmissivity > Constant Value ${Lens_Transmissivity} Reflector Material Properties Emissivity > Constant Value ${Reflector_Emissivity} Transmissivity > Constant Value ${Reflector_Transmissivity}
-
Set the surface materials and their radiative properties for the
Solid Components continuum:
- Copy and Paste the Air > Models > Surface Materials node onto the Solid Components > Models > Surface Materials node.
- Expand the Surface Materials > Surface Materials node and rename the Reflector node to Headlamp Back.
-
Expand the Headlamp Back > Material Properties node and set the following properties:
Node Property Setting Emissivity > Constant Value 0.0 Transmissivity > Constant Value 0.0
- Save the simulation.
