Alternating Values with an Anti-Periodic Transform
You can flip scalar values in visualization when you set a periodic repeat transform (either the graphics periodic repeat, or the automatically created periodic repeat) to be anti-periodic. In this mode, the scalar or vector values that are associated with that transform are alternated with each repetition.
- To make a periodic repeat transform anti-periodic, activate the Alternate Values property of its node.
You can superpose multiple transforms of this type with or without this option activated.
The anti-periodic condition is commonly used in interfaces of electrical machine simulations, as it allows using the smallest possible mesh to capture fully the magnetic electric machine behavior. The anti-periodic interface condition for periodic interfaces means that the sum of the vector degree-of-freedom values from both sides is a zero vector.
Similar to interfaces, this model-reducing technique is available in graphics periodic repeat transforms.
