Setting Up the Injector
The imported injector geometry consists of a single part surface, by default. To introduce oil particles from the bottom of the injector, you define a separate inlet surface. With this surface, you create an inlet boundary, where you inject the oil particles with a mass flow rate of 0.06 kg/s and a particle diameter of 0.3 mm.
- Right-click the Split by Angle.... node and select
- In the Split Part Surfaces by Angle dialog, set Angle (degrees) to 80.0, then click OK.The surface is split into the following surfaces:
- Surface 2—the top surface of the injector
- Surface 3—the bottom surface of the injector
- Surface—the remaining injector surfaces
- Multi-select the Surface and Surface 2 nodes, right-click one of the selected nodes, and select Combine.
- Rename the combined surface to Wall.
- Rename Surface 3 to Inlet.
- Right-click the inlet node and select .
- In the Input dialog, click OK.
- Edit the node and set the following properties:
Node Property Setting Inlet Type Mass Flow Inlet Physics Values Relative Mass Flow Rate Value 0.06 kg/s - Select the Value to 3.0E-4 m. node and set
- Save the simulation.
