Visualizing the 6-DOF Body Motion, and Applied Force
To visualize and monitor the motion and orientation of the 6-DOF body, as well as the fluid force acting on the body, you create DFBI reports as well as the corresponding monitors and plots.
-
To visualize the motion for the hull, you create DFBI motion reports:
- Right-click the Reports node and select .
- Rename the 6-DOF Body Translation 1 node to 6-DOF Body Translation X.
- Repeat the previous steps to create three reports named; 6-DOF Body Translation X, 6-DOF Body Translation Y, and 6-DOF Body Translation Z.
- Select the 6-DOF Body Translation Y node and set Direction to [0.0, 1.0, 0.0].
- Select the 6-DOF Body Translation Z node and set Direction to [0.0, 0.0, 1.0]
The 6-DOF Body Orientation report calculates the pitch
rotation angle. In this case, the pitch orientation is the Y axis. The 6-DOF Body
Force report is specified in the X axis.
-
To create the reports for pitch and resistive force:
- Save the simulation.
