Preparing Analysis Objects and Running the Simulation
Prepare analysis object to monitor the solution during the simulation progress, then specify the solver settings and run the simulation.
-
Set up scalar scenes and reports to visualize the solution, and monitor the quantities that are relevant to your analysis.
To visualize the deformation of the solid structure, you can set up a scalar scene for displacement and use a warped surface to visualize the deformed geometry. You can also set up reports that use probes to monitor key quantities at specific points, or on certain planes. For example, you can set up a report to display the value of a particular component of the stress tensor at a specified point.
When using field functions in a scene or report, use Smooth Values to visualize the nodal values. For more information on the options and field functions that are available to visualize the solution, see 求解分析准则 and Solid Stress Model Reference.
-
Set the
Solid Stress Solver properties as required:
- To run a quasi-static analysis with the Implicit Unsteady solver, select the node and activate Static Analysis.
- In dynamic simulations using the 2nd order temporal discretization scheme, select the . node and specify the Newmark parameter
- When modeling nonlinear geometry, specify the method for updating the stiffness matrix using the Stiffness Matrix Update node.
For more information, see Solid Stress Solver Reference.
-
Define the
Sparse Direct Solver properties. For large cases, run the
Sparse Direct Solver in OOC (Out-of-Core) mode, and specify a folder on your system disk that the solver can use for data storage.
For more information, see FE 稀疏直接求解器参考.
To estimate the memory that is required to run the simulation:
-
Right-click the
Estimate Memory.
node and select
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ reports the estimate in the Output window. The report includes information on the memory required to store and factorize the stiffness matrix, the model degrees of freedom, and the total memory required by the solid stress solvers.
- Run the simulation.
