Deposition Model Reference

The Deposition model is used to model the creation of the wall-bound droplets from free-stream droplets when the latter impinge on a wall bonudary.

When the model is activated, it creates a Parcel Transfer injector to delete free-stream parcels when they hit the wall and substitute wall-bound parcels. The new parcels are created with properties from the source parcels. Mass, energy, and tangential momentum are conserved.

  • Optional Models: Lagrangian Multiphase, Multiphase Interaction
  • Under Multiphase Interaction, a Lagrangian-Lagrangian phase interaction is required where one phase is free-stream and the other is wall-bound

Fluid-Film
Mode
When the Deposition model is selected, the boundary mode Transfer To Wall-Bound Phase becomes available in Fluid-Film Boundary > Physics Conditions > Mode for the free-stream phase in Lagrangian Multiphase > Lagrangian Phases > [phase] > Boundary Conditions. See the Transfer To Wall-Bound Phase boundary interaction node.
