Preparing the Simulation for CGNS File Exchange
To import data through CGNS files, you require a physics continuum with the CGNS Data Fileset model enabled. To export data through CGNS files this can be done with or without the presence of an external continuum in the simulation.
To import or export data using an external physics continua:
-
Create a new physics continuum with the following models:
Group box Model Optional Models External Continuum External Continuum File Transfer File Transfer Models CGNS Data Fileset Space Select one of the following: - For import or export of boundary data (surface mesh and, optionally, solution data), select Surface Three Dimensional.
- For import or export of region data (volume mesh and, optionally, solution data), select Three Dimensional.
Time Any 注 Simcenter STAR-CCM+ does not allow assigning a region to a physics continuum with an incompatible space model. For example, assigning an external continuum with Surface Three Dimensional space model to a Simcenter STAR-CCM+ internal region (including shell region) or assign a Simcenter STAR-CCM+ internal physics continuum to an external Surface Three Dimensional region.
To export data using an internal physics continuum:
-
Add the following model to the continua you wish to export data from:
Group box Model Optional Models File Transfer File Transfer Models CGNS Data Fileset For both options, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ adds a CGNS link node to the simulation tree, . The link is automatically configured for CGNS export:If you are exporting data using an internal continua, the Transfer Direction nodes are automatically set to No Mapping and Export respectively.
and
If you are using an external continua, assign the CGNS link to
the external continuum. The Space model selected
in the associated continuum determines whether the data are exchanged at boundaries
or regions.
- Select the node and select the external continuum.
You can use a link for import or export, but not both. However, you can
create multiple CGNS links and external continua in the same simulation.
- To set up the link for import or export, follow the instructions in:
