3D-CAD Export Options

When exporting a model or body in 3D-CAD, you have a variety of options to choose from, depending on the format you choose.

These options are listed below:

Export Solid BodiesSpecifies whether to export solid bodies.
ActivatedIncludes solid bodies in the export.
DeactivatedExcludes solid bodies in the export.
Export Sheet BodiesSpecifies whether to export sheet bodies.
ActivatedIncludes sheet bodies in the export.
DeactivatedExcludes sheet bodies in the export.
Export Faceted Solid BodiesSpecifies whether to export faceted solid bodies. Faceted solids are light-weight representations of geometry based on tessellated faces.
ActivatedIncludes faceted solid bodies in the export.
DeactivatedExcludes faceted solid bodies in the export.
Export Faceted Sheet BodiesSpecifies whether to export faceted sheet bodies. Faceted sheets are light-weight representations of geometry based on tessellated faces.

DeactivatedExcludes faceted sheet bodies in the export.
Parasolid Version

.x_b, .x_t, or .plmxml files only

Specifies which version of parasolid is used to export the geometry. Only the current and the last 5 major releases are available. If you want to export to an unsupported version, you can write a .java macro for the export.
Part File Format

.plmxml files only

Specifies the file format for the exported part files.
Parasolid Text (Default Option)Exports the part files in .x_t file format.
Parasolid BinaryExports the part files in .x_b file format.
STEPExports the part files in .step file format.
STEP FormatSpecifies the version of the STEP format. Available when you export geometry to either .step files, or .plmxml files with the part files in STEP format.
AP 242 (Default Option)Saves using Application Protocol 242.
AP 203Saves using Application Protocol 203.
AP 214Saves using Application Protocol 214.
