Running the Simulation

You run the steady simulation for 6000 iterations.

In Eulerian Multiphase simulations, reducing the AMG Linear Solver tolerance and lowering the under-relaxation factors aids solution convergence. In this simulation, you set the convergence tolerance to 0.001 for the Segregated EMP Flow and Volume Fraction solvers.

To run the simulation:

  1. Edit the Solvers node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Setting
Segregated EMP Flow > Phase Coupled Velocity Implicit Under-Relaxation Factor 0.3
    Explicit Under-Relaxation Factor 1.0
AMG Linear Solver Convergence Tolerance 0.001
Segregated EMP Flow > Pressure Under-Relaxation Factor 0.1
AMG Linear Solver Convergence Tolerance 0.001
Volume Fraction Implicit Under-Relaxation Factor 0.1
    Explicit Under-Relaxation Factor 1.0
AMG Linear Solver Convergence Tolerance 0.001
  2. Select the Stopping Criteria > Maximum Steps node and set Maximum Steps to 6000.
  3. Click (Run) in the Solution toolbar.
  4. When the simulation has finished running, save it.
